This week, a long one, with a painful foot – that cellulitis hits again, but should be up and running ready for Podcrawl this weekend. Some great comments from last weeks show (reminder, must get Patrick Moores Email address). Copyright Law Review going ahead here in the UK – all good news. Earthquakes and Damnation starts on Saturday according to cult in the States, Limewire payout to The RIAA, but I am sure the money will not go to the artists, and Chelsea shows off assets, to get in the Guinness Book of Records for the Largest Pair of breasts, unsightly and scary at the same time.

…Alright, I’ve changed my mind. I don’t want a crazed, xylophone-wielding Patrick Moore after me. But on the other hand the “Dwarf Planet” Eris is almost 30% larger than Pluto, and there are no plans to instate it as the official 10th planet. Apparently the latest rule (the one which Pluto fell foul to) is that to be a planet it has to have “cleared the neighbourhood around it’s orbit”. It’s strange to categorise something by it’s surroundings, but the solar system has to end somewhere and if Pluto is reinstated based on size (or, more likely, affection), there’s no reason Eris shouldn’t be.
Ahem. Another great show, especially liking Vertical Selection and Night Noise Team.
Glad to hear that the, frankly, stupid copyright laws are being reviewed (though it’s not like anyone actually stopped ripping a cd because it was illegal, anyway).
I’ve read that The Rapture only applies to 12,000 Jews of each of the 12 Jewish tribes, so it’s only 144,000 Jews, not 200,000,000 Christians. If you read the story of the talking snake literally, why not read the story of the apocalypse literally?
It’d be nice if some of the money in this Limewire/RIAA case went to the artists, but it won’t. Just even more money stuffed into the money-lined pockets of the RIAA. (But then I suppose it was their money to begin with).
Boobs.
Rant over. Sorry about that.
Point taken Mike. Maybe Eris should be too.
As for beliefs, Im sure it’s how each person interprets the writing of that doctrine. There are fundamental christians, who take The Bible to extremes, just as other faiths do. It’s a pity that the media (including myself I suppose), latch onto the crazy few.
But I’m not getting into that.
