We’ve got a computer hooked right up to the TV, and it’s our main source of programming on the set. Would be great to simply be able to stream content directly to the set, without a middle man. Probably a few years away from that happening. Though, you’d think it wouldn’t be that hard to build a Wi-Fi transceiver and a web browser into a TV. Of course, that browser would have to support Flash in order to get most of the streams currently available.
I’ve used my TV as a computer display for years. Since TV has gone over to flat screen HD it’s certainly a lot better support.
I don’t currently have any means of viewing “free to air” TV other than via the Internet, BBC iPlayer, 4oD etc.
I don’t think I’ll be jumping on the 3d bandwagon, not until it’s a true hologramatic display.
